What Is Ceramic Coating?

Ceramic coating is a liquid protective layer that bonds to your vehicle’s surfaces and cures into a hard, glossy shell. Compared to traditional wax, it’s designed to last much longer and hold up better to heat, chemicals and the elements. Water beads and rolls off, dirt has a harder time sticking, and washing the vehicle becomes faster and easier.

We offer ceramic coating for paint, windows and wheels, plus interior ceramic coating for seats and interior surfaces. Like everything we do, it’s fully mobile and self-contained.

Why Ceramic Coating Makes Sense in Kansas City

Kansas City’s weather is hard on a vehicle’s finish:

  • Winter: road salt and brine cling to paint and wheels. A coated surface releases them more easily when you rinse.
  • Spring: pollen, tree sap and bird droppings come off a slick coating with less scrubbing.
  • Summer: UV exposure fades and oxidizes unprotected paint and trim, and baked-on bugs are a constant battle.
  • Year-round: brake dust on wheels and water spots on glass are easier to clean from coated surfaces.

Who Ceramic Coating Is For

  • New-car owners who want to protect the finish from day one
  • Anyone who just invested in paint correction and wants to lock in the results
  • Drivers who are tired of waxing every few months
  • Families who want spill-resistant seats with interior coating

Our Ceramic Coating Process

  1. Consultation. We look at your photos, talk through which surfaces you want coated and recommend whether your paint needs correction first.
  2. Wash and decontamination. The vehicle is thoroughly washed and decontaminated so nothing is trapped under the coating.
  3. Inspection and prep. We inspect the paint and prep the surfaces so the coating bonds properly.
  4. Application. The coating is applied panel by panel, along with glass, wheels or interior surfaces if you chose them.
  5. Aftercare. We go over how to care for the coating while it cures and how to wash it going forward.

Prep Is Everything

A ceramic coating is only as good as the surface underneath it. Swirl marks, light scratches and old paint transfer will be sealed in, glossier but still visible. That’s why we inspect the paint first and may recommend paint correction before coating. It’s the difference between protected paint and paint that’s protected and flawless.

How Long Does It Take?

Ceramic coating takes more time than a standard detail because of the prep and curing involved. The exact timeline depends on the vehicle, its condition and which surfaces you coat, and we’ll lay it out with your quote.

Caring for Your Coating

  • Follow the curing instructions we give you, especially in the first days.
  • Wash regularly with a pH-neutral soap; skip harsh brush car washes.
  • Remove bird droppings and bug splatter promptly.
  • Consider a maintenance plan to keep the coating performing.

FAQ

Ceramic Coating Questions

All FAQs →

What is ceramic coating?

Ceramic coating is a liquid protective layer that bonds to your vehicle’s surfaces and cures into a hard, slick, glossy finish. It helps repel water, dirt and contaminants and makes the vehicle much easier to keep clean.

How long does ceramic coating last?

It depends on the coating we use and how the vehicle is driven, stored and maintained. When we quote your coating, we’ll walk you through the options and what to expect from each.

Do I need paint correction before ceramic coating?

A coating locks in whatever is underneath it, including swirls and scratches. If your paint has visible defects, paint correction first will give you a much better result. We’ll look at your photos and let you know.

Can you ceramic coat my interior?

Yes. Interior ceramic coating can protect seats and interior surfaces, making spills easier to clean up and helping them hold up to daily use.

Does a ceramic-coated car still need to be washed?

Yes, but it’s faster and easier. Dirt has a harder time sticking, so regular washes or a maintenance plan keep the coating performing its best.
